How Did You Get to School
When You Were a Kid?

Share Your Memories,
Win a $100 Restaurant Certificate

Safe Routes to School is holding a Marin-wide contest on Patch sites to gather childhood memories from when you biked or walked to school.

How did you get to school?
Did you travel with neighbors? Do you remember the details of your bike? What was the route you traveled to school? What were the sights and sounds you took in along the way? Did your parents ever drive you or did you use your feet to get to school most of the time?

Submit a short paragraph in the comments section with memories of when you biked or walked to school.
Remember, the more details the better! IMPORTANT:
Your submission must include what Marin town you currently live in.

The contest ends on Sept. 26. We also welcome you to upload any photographs of when you traveled to school if you have them.

We'll pick our favorite stories and announce winners on Oct. 3, International Walk & Roll to School Day. Winners will receive a $100 gift certificate donated by one of these restaurants:

In addition to participating in the contest, Muscio’s is offering a 10 percent discount to all families who ride their bikes to the restaurant.

Entries may be posted on the Safe Routes to Schools website at www.saferoutestoschools.org under "I remember walking and biking to school when I was a kid!"
